Would you like to own your own home?
It could be easier than you think...
Lee County has a program that might help you realize your dream.
Funding for this program is currently unavailable.
The amount of assistance is 10% of the purchase price or appraised value, not to exceed $10,000. Funds are to be used toward down payment and/or closing costs. If you meet HUD's income qualifications, don't currently own a home and are purchasing an existing single family home in Lee County as your primary residence, you may qualify for assistance. This program is not for investors.
If all funds are not utilized, the minimal remaining amount will be applied as a principal reduction to the homebuyer's first mortgage at the time of closing. The homebuyer cannot receive any cash back, including money paid towards earnest money deposit, application fee, appraisal, etc.
A second mortgage will be placed on the house you are purchasing. If you meet all required mortgage terms, the ten (10) year second mortgage will self-amortize at 10% per year. At the end of the ten (10) year term, if all requirements have been met, the second mortgage will be forgiven.
